Yves Mermod and Maja Siegenthaler
Yves Mermod and Maja Siegenthaler are synonymous with ambitious top-level sport and a genuine passion for sailing. Although they have their roots in the Bernese Oberland and Emmental regions and have been shaped by their sporting home—the Thunersee Yacht Club—they are mostly to be found in countries with access to the sea.
As a team, they combine different backgrounds and strengths to form a unified whole. Yves brings athleticism, body awareness, and structured precision from artistic gymnastics, while Maja Siegenthaler complements this with routine, tactics, and composure under pressure, gained from years of experience in the 470 class.
Mermod and Siegenthaler have already prevailed against international competition on the international stage on several occasions. Victories at World Cup events and consistently strong placings at World and European Championships demonstrate their potential and their ability to perform under pressure. Eighth place at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris marks an important milestone for the team and underlines their place among the world's elite.
The focus of their work is not only on the result, but also on the journey to get there. They work daily on technique, athleticism, and mental strength. What sets Yves and Maja apart is their shared motivation: the joy of competition, mutual respect, and the belief that team spirit is the key to success.
Most recently, the pair won the world championship title in the Fireball class in 2025, before continuing their journey together in the 470 class and now working towards further major goals.
We are proud to support Yves and Maja on their journey in the coming years.
