Brands
Buff
The history of the Buff brand began in Spain in the early 1990s and was born out of a simple need for a multifunctional garment for outdoor activities. Joan Rojas, a motorcycle enthusiast from Catalonia, was looking for a way to protect himself from the wind and weather during his long rides without having to wear many different items of clothing. He began experimenting and eventually developed a seamless microfiber tube scarf that he could use as a scarf, headband, cap, face shield or bandana. This versatile accessory, first launched in 1992, was not only functional, but also offered comfort and protection from the sun, wind and cold - perfect for a variety of outdoor activities. Joan Rojas named the product "Buff", derived from the Spanish word bufanda, which means "scarf". In 1992, Rojas launched the first Buff on the market and the product quickly became popular. Today, the Buff brand is internationally established and very popular with outdoor sports enthusiasts. It is still based in Catalonia and attaches great importance to quality and innovation. For example, the company focuses primarily on recycled fabrics and UV protection materials. Most of the production still takes place in Spain. buff.com
Chums
Chums is a friendly outdoor brand that grew out of a simple need. Mike Taggett was a river guide on the Colorado River and noticed that his customers often lost their goggles in the water. In 1983, he invented a practical solution to the problem: a neoprene goggle holder that held the sunglasses securely in place. He called it the Original Chums Retainer. The Chums brand, named after the cheerful golden retriever Chumley, has been synonymous with a friendly, nature-loving attitude to life ever since. Their simple products secure our favorite parts and contribute to successful outings and adventures on and off the water. Since 1985, a red-footed booby has been the mascot of the brand, which stands for adventure and travel on waters all over the world and today offers a wider range of products including goggle straps, cap retainers, bags, floating key rings and other practical items for adventure seekers. Chums is headquartered in Hurricane, Utah, near Zion National Park and surrounded by the great outdoors of the southwestern United States. From there, the company continues to develop and produce smart new items for adventurous people and water activities. Without their products, we would have sunk dozens of goggles and caps in Lake Constance. chums.com
HydraPak
Hydrapak comes from California and has been synonymous with clever drinking systems that accompany adventures on trails, waves and lakes since 2001. What began as a small idea is now a globally renowned brand among runners, bikers, kayakers and sailors. The products are lightweight, flexible and incredibly practical. Bottles that can simply be rolled up and water containers that won't go flat on long days out and about in the great outdoors. Everything is tested outdoors: in the Sierra Nevada or on the Pacific on a boat. The reusable drinking systems are also good for the environment, as they avoid disposable bottles and plastic waste. www.hydrapak.com

Around 1947, the now Lyon-based company began producing the famous striped sailor shirts for France's navy and the rest is now a great success story. The name Orcival comes from a small village in Auvergne, which company founder Charles Bert was very fond of. The brand is still family-owned today and the name and the logo with the bee stand for simple, nautical clothing of the highest quality. The stripes on the shirts are no longer just navy blue, but hardly any other item of clothing stands so clearly for the love of water and the sea. C'est formidable! orcival.com
